Environment
The
Chamber joined the World
Conservation Union (IUCN)
in 1991, the
first Jamaican member, and
the only, Chamber
of Commerce in the World.
In
1991 Mrs. Sylvie Grizzle
was named to the IUCN
Commission on Parks and
Protected Areas.
In
addition to undertaking
specific programmes for
environmental preservation
and the monitoring of projects
which impacted on the environment,
the Chamber also identified
problems and referred these
to the relevant environmental
agencies.
